Tokyo Sky Tree Tower

Tokyo Sky Tree holds the record as the tallest tower in the world. In addition to becoming an important tourist attraction, the main purpose of the structure is to serve for radio and television transmission. The former tower of that nature, Tokyo Tower, stands at 333 m (1,093 ft) and is no longer tall enough to provide full terrestrial digital television broadcast coverage because it is surrounded by many high-rise buildings.

The Sky Tree was confirmed by the Guinness World Records organization in November 2012 by breaking the record previously held by the Canton Tower in China, which stands 600m (1,968ft and a half) high.

The tower also has seismic tests, being a good security measure so that visitors feel more comfortable. People looking for a good space to see the city of Tokyo, Tokyo Sky Tree is the perfect place.

The Tokyo Sky Tree Tower is designed in an original color, “SKYTREE White”, which represents harmony with the surrounding landscape, its name and the concept: “The creation of the city landscape that transcends time: a fusion of traditional beauty Japanese and neo-futuristic design. ”

Tokyo Sky Tree was created by the architecture firm Nikken Sekkei, and construction began in 2008. A central column of reinforced concrete, which encloses the elevator shafts and an emergency staircase, is surrounded by a steel tube structure. At its base, the frame takes the shape of an equilateral triangle with sides of 223 feet (68 meters), but as the tower narrows, the cross section gradually becomes circular. The central column extends only to the height of 1,230 feet (375 meters) and does not support the tower. Instead, above 410 feet (125 meters) it is connected to the steel frame by flexible oil dampers that act as such. In earthquake conditions, the central column is designed to counteract any rocking of the tower.

Tokyo Sky Tree has two observation decks that are accessible to the public. One of the decks is 350 meters high and the other 450 meters high. Each deck features differently shaped windows, providing a slightly different view. On the 340 floor, they also have a glass floor for those feeling a little bolder.

Tokyo Sky Tree has a variety of venues to visit at the base of the tower: an aquarium, planetarium, restaurants, and shops. After paying a small entrance fee, you can enter the royal tower and head to the speedy elevators to go up and enjoy the view. Although its main use is as a broadcast tower and as a lookout point, tourists can also enjoy the restaurant and cafe, as well as a small shop. On foggy days, the tower offers a virtual reality panoramic view to compensate for not having your own view of the city.
